Welcome to my blog. I'm Andrés Prada, a technology enthusiast and ML engineer. I've always wanted a space where I could publicly share the findings and insights from my work.
I wouldn't call myself an entrepreneur, more a builder (both words are pretty cringy nowadays). I like building things. Taking projects from 0 to 1 is what really excites me, and software has always been a great way to design and develop products. For a long time, the only thing stopping me from building more was time. Now that I don't even need to open VSCode to build or improve a system, the only real limit is ideas.
My background is very technical. I did my bachelor's degree at UC3M (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid), where I fell in love with computer vision. I then did a Master's in the same field, which ended with an internship in Berlin working on a plant disease classification model. I liked Berlin so much that I stayed, and joined Footprint Technologies as its first employee and first technical hire. I built the first MVP and have been part of every step since. At Footprint, we've built a shoe size recommendation system based on photos of the feet, and we serve clients in the e-commerce, safety and military sectors. Today I'm the CTO.
I'm also building side projects like devsolar.es, which helps solar installers and companies in Spain submit the right data and documents to the right authorities. There are others I'll share when the time comes, if they turn out to be useful to the community.
On this blog, I'll share projects I build with AI, hoping they inspire others to replicate or improve them. I don't think sharing the code adds much at this point: any frontier model can reproduce something very similar from the prompt I include with each project.
And last but not least, I'll share thoughts and reflections in essay form as ideas come to me.
